Subject: 2002 Primary to 2008 General Election data sets
All of the California election data sets were updated. Specifically, all instances of "ssprec" were changed to "srprec" both in the file names as well as, the variable names in files for the 2002 General (g02), 2003 Recall (s03), 2004 Primary (p04), 2004 General (g04), 2005 Special Election (s05), 2006 Primary (p06), 2006 General (g06), 2008 Special Election (s08), 2008 Primary (p08) and 2008 General (g08) Statement of Registration and Statement of Vote files by ss precinct, now sr precinct. Actual data should be unaffected. The effected files were the SOV, REG, ABS, POLL VOTERS, and VOTERS files by ss precinct.

The Humboldt county Statement of Registration files were updated. In the previous version, the party affiliation and surname matched data were missing from the files. The fields were all zero with the exception of MSC, and the surname others.

a) Kern REG file had only 26 data records,

b) Orange SOV file by ssprec contained no data records,

c) Orange REG by ssprec file's total registration was incorrect. According to the official figure from Orange County Registrar, the total registration was 1,491,009 but the Statewide Database file only a record of 600,081 registered voters,

d) Ventura REG by ssprec file's total registration was incorrect,
c111_s05_registration_by_s05_ssprec.dbf.
