Dataset:	2016 Primary Election precinct geographic conversion file

Description:	This file contains statewide 2010 Census block conversions for the 2016 Primary Election Map precincts (mprec). This file can be used to merge census data to the 2016 Primary Election map precincts.

Geographic Unit:	Map precincts (mprec) are created to reflect the geography as consistently as possible. RR precincts are aggregations of RG precinct (tabular data) into MPRECs (geographic). Primarily speaking, Map precincts are RR precincts.

File Fields:

	ELECTION - 3 digit, election abbreviation

	TYPE - geographic unit of file

	COUNTY - 1 to 3 digit numerical codes for California's county

	FIPS - 2 digit state code FIPS for California, "06," followed by the 3 digit county FIPS code 

	MPREC_KEY - FIPS code followed by the precinct number or name

	MPREC - precinct number or name

	PCTBLK - percent of the 2010 Census Block that is within the map precinct.
