SOURCE:

Files ending in the DAT extension are links to the files
provided by PacTech Data and Researvh, Pasadena CA.  The original
codebook is called TR-C90_CY01_SV-G00-RG-G00.DOC.  There is a codebook
for each county for this series, which you can find in the ftp tree.

DATA:

Files beginning in SWDB are produced by the Statewide Database and
the codebook is called SWDB_G00_TRC90.cb

This codebook incorporates the following changes from the PDR data:
Added Fields:
TRACTKEY  C015000  Census (TIGER) unique tract ID (SWDB)   
COUNTY    N008000  Alpha code for county

Changed Field Names.  These names were changed for consistency with the other data sets:
The majority of field names in the original dataset were in lower case.  These have been
converted.

CNTY		FIPS	PDR used fips codes for county in this case, so just the variable name is changed

SD		SD91
CD		CD91

FORMATS:

Files ending in ASC are fixed-field ASCII files, derived from the PDR
files according to the above criteria.

Files ending in DBF are Dbase format tables
This data set contains a large number of fields, to cope with the phenomenon
of the open primary.  Accordingly, there are three DBF files for every
ASC file, with fields distributed as indicated in the codebook.

Files ending in TXT are tab-delimitted text files

The three files ending ZIP are statewide files, zipped to
reduce the size of the files.
