Dataset:	2016 General Election precinct geographic conversion file

Description:	This file contains statewide precinct boundary equivalencies for the 2016 General Election RG, RR and SR precincts. 

Geographic Unit:	 RG precincts are derived from the County Registrar of Voters' original registration precincts. RR precincts are derived from consolidated registration precincts and are a geographic unit constructed for statistical merging purposes by the Statewide Database. SR precincts are derived from consolidated voting precincts and are a geographic unit constructed for statistical merging purposes by the Statewide Database.

File Fields:

	ELECTION - 3 digit, election abbreviation

	TYPE - geographic unit of file

	COUNTY - 1 to 3 digit numerical codes for California's counties	

	FIPS - 2 digit state code FIPS for California, "06," followed by the 3 digit county FIPS code 

	RGPREC_KEY - FIPS code followed by the rg precinct number or name

	RGPREC - rg precinct number or name

	RRPREC_KEY - FIPS code followed by the rr precinct number or name

	RRPREC - rr precinct number or name

	SRPREC_KEY - FIPS code followed by the sr precinct number or name

	SRPREC - sr precinct number or name
