Do you make maps?
We can provide maps on the Statewide, County, Senate, Assembly,
and Congressional District levels filled with various data such
as blocks and street labels, census, and/or registration information.
With regret, we cannot provide maps with precinct information.
Basic Assembly, Senate, and Congressional District maps are available
online in the "Maps" section of this website. All other
maps need to be requested by email or phone.
Do you have Census Data?
What type of data do you have?
The Statewide Database has census data readily available, as well
as Statement of Vote (SOV) and Statement of Registration (SOR)
data for the 1990-1998 General Elections and the 1998 Primary
Election.
How can I get data?
How can I download data?
Do I need a special program to read the data?
The Census, SOR, and SOV data is available for download on the
Statewide Database website in the "Data" link. Data
is available in census block, tract, and precinct breakdowns.
All downloadable files are in *.dbf format, which can be read
by most spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Excel and SPSS.
Data is also available in *.txt format, which can be read by almost
all word-processing programs such as MS Word, MS Works, and Word-Perfect.
Where do you get your data?
How much do you charge?
The Statewide Database is a free public resource. Our data and
services are available to anyone who wises to use them. All items
ready for download on the website are free. Specific requests
for CD-ROMs of data are available at cost. Personalized, wall-sized
maps can be made for $20 each, with the first one free, plus the
cost of shipping and handling, per shipment.
Do you draw district lines?
While we are the State of California's "Redistricting Database"
we do NOT draw lines. Our purpose is to provide data readily to
ALL who wish to use it for whatever purposes the customer intends.
While some happen to intend to redistrict, we do NOT instruct
others in drawing lines, nor draw them ourselves for anyone.
